3. Proportionality - the process of having the same or a constant ratio.
4. Ratio - the relationship between two quantities, expressed as a quotient,
often written as a:b or a/b.
5. Scale - the ratio between the dimensions of an object and the corresponding
dimensions of a drawing or model of the object, often written as 1:x, where
x is the scale factor.
6. Scale factor - how big something is in relation to something else; the
constant that can be multiplied by the dimensions of a scale drawing or
model to get the dimensions of the actual object; the "x" part of the scale
(1:x).
7. Surface area - the area enclosed in a 2-dimensional surface; for example,
the area of a rectangle.
8. Volume - the amount of 3-dimensional space occupied by an object; for
example, the volume of a cube.
